Patient Responsibilities
- Our patients are responsible for making reasonable efforts to protect their health and following recommendations provided for maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
- Patients must provide complete and accurate information regarding their current and previous health conditions and bring all required documentation.
- Patients must follow the recommendations of the healthcare professionals responsible for their treatment and cooperate with them.
- Patients should ask questions about any aspects of their health condition or planned treatment that they do not fully understand or for which they require further explanation.
- Patients must inform the healthcare professionals responsible for their treatment about any changes in their health condition.
- Patients must accept responsibility for the consequences resulting from refusing treatment or failing to comply with the treatment plan.
- Patients must comply with clinical rules that may affect the treatment process and organization of care.
- Patients must make additional payments not covered by their health insurance on time or, in the case of self-paying patients, pay all applicable charges on time.
- Patients are responsible for compensating for any damage they cause to medical center property or equipment.
- Patients must show respect to other people, other patients, and staff and observe the rights of healthcare professionals.
- Patients must adhere to their appointment times and, in the event of a delay, allow other waiting patients to be examined first where appropriate.
- Conscious patients admitted on a planned basis should understand that personal belongings kept with them that are not medically necessary remain their own responsibility and should take the appropriate precautions.
- Patients are responsible for complying with referral procedures determined by the Ministry of Health and other social security institutions.
- Patients are responsible for listening to instructions regarding healthcare and post-discharge care plans and informing healthcare personnel whether they have understood them correctly.
- Patients must not possess flammable, combustible, or explosive substances except where medically necessary and specifically authorized by the medical center administration.
- Patients are expected to support us in maintaining a safe and pleasant environment.
Companion Policy
- Only one companion is permitted to stay in a patient’s room.
- For the patient’s health and the proper delivery of healthcare services, companions are required to comply with all rules established by the medical center.
- For patient safety, companions must not perform any procedure or intervention without the knowledge of the doctor or nursing staff.
- Medical center property and equipment must not be damaged and should be kept clean and orderly. Companions are expected to cooperate with staff during room cleaning. If any property is damaged, the necessary procedures will be applied.
- Companions should pay attention to patient and family education and comply with the relevant requirements.
- Smoking and the consumption of alcoholic beverages by companions are strictly prohibited within the medical center building, garden, and parking areas.
- Companions must avoid behavior that may disturb other patients or their relatives, refrain from speaking loudly inside patient rooms, and comply with security rules when entering or leaving the medical center at night.
- Companions are not permitted in Intensive Care Units.
Visitor Admission Policy
Rules for visits and requirements to be followed during visits:
- Visiting hours at our medical center are between 08:00 and 22:00 every day. Please ensure that patient visits take place during the designated visiting hours.
- Children under the age of twelve are not admitted to the medical center as visitors. In exceptional circumstances, they may be admitted with a doctor’s approval. Please do not bring children to the medical center as visitors.
- Please do not insist on visiting a patient in special circumstances where the doctor does not permit visitors.
- Visits are limited to 10 minutes. For the patient’s health and comfort, visits should be kept brief, the number of people in the patient’s room should be limited, and visitors should avoid speaking loudly enough to disturb other patients.
- Certain specialized units may have additional rules specific to those units.
- In situations where a visit may pose a risk to the patient, visits are subject to the doctor’s approval.
- The floor secretary and information desk will be informed accordingly. For patients subject to visitor restrictions, the floor nurse will place a notice on the patient’s door stating: “Visits Are Restricted for the Health of Your Patient.”
- When visiting a patient, please do not bring gifts other than books, magazines, newspapers, hygienic personal-care products such as cologne, paper napkins, paper towels and tissues, and safe toys for children.
- Wash your hands before and after visiting the patient.
- Respect patient privacy.
- Do not sit on patient beds or touch medical devices and systems located around the patient’s bedside or within the medical center.
- Since each patient may require a specific diet according to their medical condition, please do not bring outside food or beverages to the patient without the doctor’s approval.
- In accordance with Law No. 4207, smoking is prohibited inside the medical center building, garden, and parking areas. Persons who fail to comply with the law may be subject to the applicable penalties specified under Law No. 4207.
- Live flowers are not permitted in patient rooms due to patient health considerations.
- Please remember that your patient’s health is just as important to us as it is to you.
Request, Suggestion and Feedback Policy
As the Patient Relations Department, our aim is to ensure that you receive the services you need from our medical center and remain satisfied with your experience.
- All patients and their relatives receiving services from our medical center are encouraged to share their opinions and feedback regarding the medical center.
- All submitted feedback is evaluated by the relevant department managers, and necessary improvements are made in line with patient requests where appropriate.
- Following the evaluation, information regarding decisions and outcomes is communicated to the patient who submitted the feedback to the relevant department.
- Not only our Patient Relations Department but also all relevant senior managers work with a solution-oriented approach regarding your requests, suggestions, and feedback.

You may send an e-mail through the Feedback and Suggestions section available on our website. You may also complete the survey forms available on the floors and in waiting areas or meet directly with representatives of the Patient Relations Department.

Recruitment Process and Procedures
When Vera SM Medical Center requires new personnel, job vacancies are published on our website and on career platforms. You can follow these announcements to learn about employment opportunities and apply for open positions. Applications are evaluated by Human Resources Management, and suitable candidates are invited for an initial interview. Candidates considered appropriate following this interview are subsequently interviewed by the managers of the relevant departments.
Salary and Additional Benefits
Salary: Payments are made based on gross salary.
Meals: Free lunch is provided, and dinner is available for employees working shifts.
Accommodation: Accommodation is provided for nurses applying from outside Istanbul.
Healthcare Benefits: Our employees and their first-degree relatives may benefit from healthcare services provided by our medical center at discounted rates.
Leave Entitlements
- Employees with 1 to 5 years of service are entitled to 14 working days of annual leave.
- Employees with 6 to 15 years of service are entitled to 20 working days of annual leave.
- Employees with more than 16 years of service are entitled to 26 working days of annual leave.
Vera SM Medical Center also provides applicable leave entitlements for illness, marriage, bereavement, childbirth, and breastfeeding.
Working Hours: Standard working hours at our medical center are between 08:00 and 18:00. As Vera SM Medical Center is a healthcare institution providing services 24 hours a day, a shift-based working system is also in place.
Occupational Physician: Our medical center has a physician responsible for providing medical care to employees in the event of illness and intervening in cases of sudden health problems.
Security Information and Policy
Your safety is of the utmost importance to us. Taking patient privacy rules into consideration, our medical center is monitored by security cameras 24 hours a day.
Please do not share documents related to your health or prescriptions issued in your name with anyone other than authorized healthcare personnel.
If you notice a suspicious situation or person, please inform the responsible nurse or floor attendant of the relevant department.
For your safety, we kindly ask you to cooperate with security personnel during;
- Inspection of packages brought into the medical center,
- Inspection of the underside and luggage compartments of vehicles in the parking area.
Despite all precautions, we kindly remind you not to leave your personal belongings, valuable documents, or important papers unattended and that responsibility for personal belongings remains with you.
